我很喜歡玩一個遊戲，就是在看到設計師的作品時，順道猜猜他的喜好。第一次看見Alessia Xoccato所設計的服飾時，我露出大大的微笑，一是她的設計實在太有趣了，二則是我依稀彷彿能猜透她喜歡些什麼。其實見到她本人時我有點訝異，原以為她的造型會更前衛些，想不到本人卻是走非常乾淨的藝術家路線：淡妝素裹，配上紅色的大捲髮，一身白衣，與我平時接觸到的業界人士不太一樣，更像是搞設計那掛的。

跑了幾次她的工作室，聊了幾次天後，總算印證了我對她的假設，這位服裝設計師，私底下喜歡的東西跟時尚果然一點關係都沒有。「若要說我的靈感來源是什麼，應該是我喜歡的建築師和雕塑家的作品吧。我喜歡簡單卻有力的線條和幾何圖形的運用。」Alessia說道「我喜歡的雕塑家是…」

「Anish Kapoor。」我與她異口同聲，暗自竊喜著我猜真准，哈哈。

「真的！！」她開心的說「你不覺得用簡單的素材，也可以創造出不簡單的效果嗎？」

仔細端看Alessia所設計的服飾，真的如她所說，用獨門的剪裁方式和自己開發的特殊布料，造型手法簡而有力，雖然是女裝，卻沒有義大利女裝那種溢出來的嬌媚，反而像建築、像雕塑，安靜沈穩。

很多當代設計師所設計出來的前衛服飾，會給人一種“為了酷而酷”的反骨過剩感，但我喜歡Alessia Xoccato的衣服就在於，她並沒有特別要耍酷，只是把藝術對她所造成的影響，投注到設計裡。說起她心目中的女人形象，她的想法是：「我覺得一個女人，不需要天天想著要展現自己的胸、腰，還是臀部，其實那些都是其次，我們腦袋裡的東西才是最重要的。輕鬆的做個隨性卻摩登的人吧。」

我穿著她設計的衣服，真覺得自己頓時拋下了女人味的枷鎖，卻依舊是個精神豐富的女子。

There’s one game I love to play during the work, which is to guess what does the designer like soon as I see their works. When I first saw Alessia Xoccato’s collection, I had a smile on my face. Because I like the way she tells the story and I can kind of figure out where dose her inspirations came from.

The first time I met her in the presentation she blew my mind. To me she’s more an artist than a designer: clean makeup, big curl hair with well structured outfit made by herself. There is a fair atmosphere around her and the team, fresh and clean.

After I’ve been talked to Alessia for several times, I proofed my hypothesis of her: the things that influence her are not fashion, but art and architecture! “I love lines and shapes.” she said “I love works from Anish Kapoor (I yelled yes inside) and like Gio’ Ponti. They can always turn simple things into phenomenon.”

If you take a close look to Alessia Xoccato’s design, the using of unique fabric and the silhouette that she creates, they are just like her said, simple but phenomenal. A lot of young designers are seeking for COOL FOR COOL. But inside the work of Alessia, I see real cool. The coolness she put the influence of art and architecture right into her design, just because she simply likes them, which makes it so effortless.

“I think other then showing off our body shapes, the things that really matters are what do we have in our brain.” speaking of an ideal kind of woman of hers, she said ” I hope the women who wear my design can be real and careless. There’s no need to be exaggerate, just be yourself. And to me, that’s very cool and modern.”

在2012年時Alessia Xoccato更被Vogue Italia選為Who Is On Next?新人大賞的決勝者。而她現在正和其他設計師及品牌一樣，如火如荼地進行與開發更新更好的設計。

Alessia is winner of the Next Generation competition in 2009, she is showing her work on the catwalk of Milan Fashion Week and, selected from the National Chamber of Fashion, at the Toronto Fashion Week.
